Description
It is used as a selective oxidation catalyst, and as a molybdenum oxidase enzyme. It is a source of molybdenum compounds and molybdenum metal which serves as an additive to steel and corrosion-resistant alloys. It is used for lubricants and lubricant additives. It has applications in process regulators, pigments, corrosion inhibitors, electrochemical devices, displays, and smoke suppressants. It finds use in analytical chemistry, ceramic glazes, enamels, energy storage, and in the manufacture of acrylonitrile through catalytic oxidation of ammonia and propene.
