Description

Description

Neodymium foil is used in alloys to produce permanent magnets and flints. It is also used as an additive to glasses which are used in solid state lasers and light amplifiers. It is also employed in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes, including thermal and electron-beam (e-beam) evaporation, for the preparation of thin films. The neodymium-based magnet is used extensively in the automotive industry with many applications including starter motors, brake systems, seat adjusters and car stereo speakers. It is also used in CRT displays to enhance contrast between reds and greens.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
