MilliporeSigma™ Novagen™ Benzonase™ Nuclease
Used for removal of nucleic acids from recombinant proteins
Supplier: MilliporeSigma™ 707463
Description
- Genetically engineered endonuclease from Serratia marcescens
- Degrades all forms of DNA and RNA (single stranded, double stranded, linear and circular) while having no proteolytic activity
- Effective over wide range of conditions and possesses high specific activity
- Rapidly hydrolyzes nucleic acids to makes enzyme for viscosity reduction to reduce processing time and increase yields of protein
- Compatible with BugBuster™ and PopCulture™ Protein Extraction Reagents
- Can be added along with these reagents to eliminate viscosity and remove nucleic acids from E. coli extracts
- Functional between pH 6 and 10 and from 0 to 42°C and requires 1to 2mM Mg2+ for activation
- Active in presence of ionic and non-ionic detergents, reducing agents, PMSF (1mM), EDTA (1mM) and urea
- Activity is inhibited by >150mM monovalent cations, >100mM phosphate, >100mM ammonium sulfate, or >100mM guanidine HCl
