Applications4,4′-Diaminodiphenylmethane is used as an intermediate for the preparation of 4,4â-methylenediphenyldiisocyanate, 4,4′-methylenebis(cyclohexaneamine). It is also used in the preparation of polyurethane foams. Further, it is used as hardeners in epoxy resins and adhesives. In addition to this, it is used in the manufacturing of high-performance polymers.
Solubility
Soluble in alcohol, ether, acetone, benzene, ethyl ether, carbon tetrachloride and methanol. Slightly soluble in water.
Notes
Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, oxidizing acids, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides and chloroformates.
