For secretion cytology
Stain eosinophils red; neutrophils, epithelial (exfoliated cells) and bacteria blue; and mast cells or basophiles red and blue
Can be adapted for staining various secretions: urinary, conjunctival, salivary, gastrointestinal, nasal, sinus, aural and bronchial
Determine elevated levels of eosinophils in urine (eosinophiluria) which can aid in diagnosis of many associated clinical conditions
Cannot be used for blood staining
